What’s your favourite memory of your grandparents?

In early October, we celebrate Grandparent’s Day in New Zealand. It’s a chance to celebrate the wonderful things that grandparents do for us and the joy they bring.

To mark the day, we asked some Kiwis what their favourite memory of their grandparents was. Here are some of the things they said.

Sitting around the table talking while eating my granny’s cooked meal.

Having my grandad make a feast for me and my family every time we came to visit.

My grandma picking me up from school and walking me home.

Spending the afternoon at my grandad’s shoe shop, Ema, Auckland.

When my grandma would give me money to buy ice cream.

My grandad would always put up the inflatable pool for me and my cousin every time I came to visit.

Do you have a treasured memory of your grandparents? Tell us about it in the comments.
