We’ve been showcasing GrandFriends in Auckland

This month some of our team had the pleasure of attending two expos in Auckland.

The first was the Digital Seniors Tech Expo on Auckland’s North Shore.

This was the first-ever expo showcasing technology aimed at older people and showing them how to use it with confidence. There were demos and expert talks, hands-on opportunities and lots of organisations that represent older peoples’ interests and offer services and activities for them.

The expo was attended by our Founder Jo and our Operations Leader Anna, They were joined by Granny Susan - surrogate grandmother to Jo’s family and the inspiration behind GrandFriends.

Our team had a great time at the expo showing visitors how our new member platform works, and were inspired by how enthusiastic and interested people were about embracing technology to meet new people, broaden their skills and help with everyday tasks.

The following week, the team were out again at the Heart of the Bays’ Active Ageing expo in Browns Bay which promoted health, wellbeing and connection for older people in the local community.  This was a smaller expo but there was still plenty of activity going on.

We loved the chance to get out and about and share GrandFriends’ work with people.
